entering 2025
My dear companions!
I wrote a longish '2025 in review', looking back at last 12 months, what music I made and released, what performances I made, what was on my mind, what research I've done, how I engaged with communities, and more. Here are few highlights:
- DRAGXFUNK album release
- mini train lecture-performance tour Prague, Germany, Austria, + Neuchatel, visiting Malta
- getting a new job / employment / artistic research in academic context
- farewell to long-time 4-legged friend
- starting The Backstairs Tone and launching my always-under-construction homegrown webpage

membership
You know, running a subsciption or membership project is not uncommon these days. It seems to have been actually popularized (substack, patreon, etc.) and pushed forward by a mixture of commercial interests and 'creators' frustrations. I'm really happy to have migrated from Patreon and started my own membership project The Backstairs Tone. It didn't yet gone crazy with members, but what is very important is that I'm quite independent from platforms - the only real dependency is the payment processor Stripe.
I still owe a full-on explanation about the reasons for moving off Patreon, and to do an official launch, asking patrons from Patreon for that final (non)move, and move forward with even higher gears. This past year, it was an experiment, how much can I keep the freequency and I wrote you 20 letters. While that's less then half of weeks in a year, it's not too bad. But what really matters are the hearts, not the views and clicks.
