#240813: slow progress, live streaming

To be honest, another challenging week fighting procrastination and, at times, bouts of depression of mild intensity. But then again, I manage to move forward one way or another, with an effort to be functional, to change settings, to do more physical things. Cycling here does wonders. Despite heat (or because of it) I move from home to studio every day on two wheels, which makes the mental tribulations less intense.

Some tiny steps were done wrt album: I was facing the track 'Lubricate Me' with newly recorded vocals by N. - we recorded them in May - and I compressed and cleaned them up and they now sit a bit nicer in the mix, but I will probably go back to them after I'll get nearer finishing the arrangement.

I decided (through discussions at Emanat/Kamizdat) that I won't be doing a 'concert' with vocal for this first preview of the album next week, but a kind of more solo/producer/live mix/fx act. This will coincide with a publishing of a pre-order on Bandcamp. I will instead put together more elaborate presentation at the end of November or early December when the release will be finalized with the USB booklet and such.

On Wednesday I did a live stream where I played/mixed 100% own material on our Live Pretok TV streaming channel powered by OwnCast - as part of august 2024 Fediwave Artists Streaming Series initiated by RadioFreeFedi and created by FediWave community. This DJ mix was a derivative of a mix that I did for Musique Libre Festival at Bikini Test, La Chaux-de-Fonds, Neuchâtel (Switzerland) where I played a mix of my stuff and Kamizdat releases. I have recorded the stream and is currently unlisted but available to play: at this point an exclusive to you, members of The Backstairs Tone:
